Ok, trust me on this!.!.!.DO NOT RENT DARK WATER NO NO NO! If you do you will be so unbelievably sorry, it is such a stupid movie, along the same lines as lady in the water!.!.!.

A lot fo the movies I've seen are gory, hollywood thinks that's the answer to every horror movie even though it just ups the gross factor not the actual scariness!.!.!.

To me the most frightening movie I've ever seen is The Exorcist, and I am NOT easily scared at all

You could try renting

The Ring
Ghost Ship
Scream (it's bloody but it's got a really interesting story and a lot of comedy to lighten the mood)
Silent Hill (I don't find it that gross but you might, very creepy though)
Halloween (the old versions pretty much have no blood but the new version is just pathetically disgusting)
Misery (kinda weird but interesting and no blood that I remember)
The Village
I wish I could suggest more but most that I've seen are just blood baths

Oh and the shining is a great choice too!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Room 1408, most of the others I'd say have been named!. Although with Halloween I'd suggest Rob Zombie's recent version!. The first Final Destination was decent as well, not sure if you'd consider it too gory or not!. My other suggestion would be The Exorcism of Emily Rose!.

Yeah Rob Zombie might have made his a little gorier, but to me it made a lot more sense!. I tried watching one of the older ones and it was just wasn't doing anything for me!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I suppose you could go with the classics:
Halloween, The exorcist, Blair Witch Project, Rosemary's Baby, Suspiria, The wicker man (original), Salems Lot, Carrie, Fright Night, Dracula (1957), Night of the living Dead!.

Or theres always great horror/comedies: Shaun of the dead, severance, Idle Hands, Evil Dead 2 (dont need to have seen the 1st), Frighteners, The Burbs!.

Frailty will scare the crap out of you, and take you places you will never expect (there are some genius plot twists), and there isn't any real gore to be seen, only implied gore, which makes it even scarrier!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
