Is The Economy Taken Into Account For Box Office Statistics/Records?!

Question: Is The Economy Taken Into Account For Box Office Statistics/Records!?
When it was still a possibility that "The Dark Knight" would surpass "Titanic" as the highest grossing film of all time, are they taking the economy into account and adjusting for inflation!? I mean ticket prices are more expensive now than they were in 1997, which invariably increases total earnings!. Anyways, I've been wondering this for a while now (even before The Dark Knight) so any answers would be appreciated!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
no or gone with the wind and star wars the original would be 1 and 2 look at tickets sold
no movie b is still number one!. like i said gone with the wind and star wars have sold the most tickets, so if they accounted for todays pricies they would be 1 and 2!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I guess you would have to adjust for inflation, but, movies actually do better during recession because they are the alternative entertainment to say, taking a trip to an amusement park!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

well i dont know if it would or not but the companies who made the films get the money!. So its pretty much just them geting it back
