Is it just me or are "scary" movies going down hill?!
Question: Is it just me or are "scary" movies going down hill!?
The animation is poor on vampires and werewolves!. The best transformation for a werewolf was American Werewolf in London!. I have come to believe at a young age that vampires are sex icons, how the hell are they sexy now!? Look at Van Helsing, or 30 Days of Night! Not sexy!!
Then look at the plots of today's actual horro movies, not much plot or depth!. Yawn!. Boring!. Now personally, I have never really been scared watching a moving, but come one, intrest me!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yes Horror films have been going down hill ever since about the time hostel and saw came out and writers have been depending on the gore to scare people rather than actual scary stuffWww@Enter-QA@Com

Scary movies don't really scare me in the first place!.
It seems like a lot of them either have similar plot lines, or no plots at all!.
The only recent scary movie that I have found suspenseful was The Strangers!. But again, no real plot!. Merely suspense (not to mention I saw it very late at night)!.
Yeah, it seems like that for movies in general though!. Lately, it seems like all that comes out are sequals, remakes, and movies based on real stories, or books!.
Whenever I see an original movie that people just thought up, and it's actually good, it's amazing!.!.!.

it's always been hard to make a decent horror movie!. when it comes to other genres, keeping to a formula is relatively easy!. when it comes to horror or dark fantasy, what scares people is as subjective as the person viewing it!. b-movie horror has always been seen as a "stepping stone" for writers and directors, so you usually have people who either don't know at all what they are doing, or just don't take the movie seriously!. "Alien" is considered by Ridley Scott as a B-movie, but what you had was a director who believed in what was being done!. "Predator" was directed by the same man who directed "Die Hard", so it was another case of an experienced director who didn't want his name attached to a badly done movie!. they both took a ridiculous premise, and made it plausible!. also, with stan winston now dead, and a lot of decent horror writers and directors not getting the studio backing they deserve, A level horror is still going to be few and far between!. You are right!.!.!.they have been bad for a long time!. All the stupid Saw movies don't compare to the OLD classics with bad technology like IT, Halloween, stuff like that!. I mean they had no special effects to work with yet they are still great movies!. Tim Burton does a good job but they are more dramatic than horror movies i guess!. The True Blood series does a good job with the vampires I think too!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I agree with you, they totally suck, they're predictable, and really the scripts are awful (as if they think excess gore will compensate for a dumb dialogue/plot)!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
