Question: Why is it that America get all the movies/new music first!?
Even with the British films like Atonement and Bridget Jones, they get them first! Why!?
And if anybody from America says "It's cos we're the best" or "we're great" or whatever, in advance, I'm sure there is an actual logic to this!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's largely because America has a larger and more robust movie machine!. And the release in many countries is launched based on the performance in the US!.
I think the reason that many British films are launched in the US first is because they are produced or funded by US companies and so they hold the rights for the films!.
Some British films will be launched in Brittan first - for example, the Mr!. Bean movies and The Magic Roundabout (renamed Doogle for for the US and redubbed with American actors)!. But I really do think it comes down to who put up the money!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The actual reason is - that most of the movies are produced in America, and so is music!. What is produced in UK is released there first!. Simlarly, what is produced in india is released in India first!. Its simply marketing logic, and has nothing to do with greatness!. Sometimes, Foreign films do get premiered in US first, is again because of marketing reasons and Public Relation exercises!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I believe because there is a bigger market compared to Europe!. I was born and raised in Germany, and I know what you mean!. I live in the States now and the only thing I can think off, is because the US seems to be a trend setter for the rest of the world when it comes to movies and music!. However, I find many great British movies that just don't seem to be able to break through in the states!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Maybe it is to make up for the fact that most of our TV shows are just remakes of British ones:)

The american consumer market constitutes about 30% of world commerce!. If you have a moderately successfull movie in USA, you still make more money than a HUGELY sucessfull movie in UK!.

You're wrong ! Bridget Jones premiered in London [4 April 2001 ], Lord of the Rings premiered in New Zealand, many films premiere in Cannes film festival!. Many British musicians release albums in U!.K!. first, then U!.S!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
