You've already got one good answer here but I had one other thought and that is: Joan Crawford instructed her adopted children from a VERY early age to call her Mommie Dearest!. By spelling the name with an "i!.!.!.e" instead of a "y", it implies usage by a really young child who would only address a mother in such a formal manner IF trained to do so!. Christina resented how cruel her mother was to her and her brother and has pay-back, she exposed what truly went on behind closed doors--the side of Joan Crawford that very few knew!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
It's just a variation of the spelling!. My mother spelled her name (on cards, and stuff - there's not a ton of places to sign "Mommy", no matter how you spell it!.) Mommie!. I asked her why, she just said she liked it!. It was different!. She wasn't especially a Joan Crawford fan!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
because it was a typo & they just stuck with it
