One of my favorite movies is American History X!. The good thing about the movie is that it did not denounce racism in a condescending way!. It approached the issue by revealing the cruelty and violence about racism, and shows you how pointless it really is to hate on race!. Anyway, I'm not here to write an essay, but I love the presentation of the entire film, from the acting, the editing of scenes, use of shooting techniques such as black and white, slow motion captures, flashbacks, parallel plot progression, blah blah blah!.
I like the character Derek Vinyard (Edward Norton), but the reason is not related with the movie much!. I think Derek is a cool character to be, because he's a born leader and a guy that uses his own judgment on issues that he cared about!. You can see that when he was KKK he actually had a system of thought about why he's KKK, perhaps it's wrong, perhaps he was blinded by certain aspects, but he was an independent thinker!. Later on when he realized he was wrong, he changed his opinion AND his actions immediately!. He didn't get scared in front of an entire mob of KKK's, and I respect that!. He's truly a free thinker, and he acts out exactly what he thinks is right!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The Big Lebowski, because it's a great kidnapping caper movie wrapped in hilarious dialogue and insane situations!. I'd want to be the Dude, because the Dude is the coolest, most down to earth "hero" in a movie I've ever seen!.
