Question: Star Wars: C3PO, the forgotten droid!?
C3PO was used by the Owens in Episode 2, and bought again by the Owens at Episode 4!. Did the Owens forget about him!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

The Owen Lars family knew their droid as one that young Anakin built and who was later completed (covered) with parts Shmi Skywalker/Lars probably got from the local junkyard!. That droid later left the planet in the company of a grown Anakin and his friend, Padme!. Both later die and their droids are sent into other service or deactivated and destroyed or whatever happens to droids in that setting!. (Of course WE know that didn't happen but we don't count!.)
There are millions of protocol droids in the Star Wars universe so when one shows up among the castoffs of a Jawa sandcrawler, why would the Lars family ever think they were one and the same!? Especially since 3P0 didn't recognize them either!?
From the way Luke and Owen talk these are not the only droids they have ever had working on the farm!. They may have gone through dozens of droids over the years!. Owen was certainly familiar with what a droid like 3P0 was usually programmed for!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
