Why do Horror Movies suck so much nowadays?!
Question: Why do Horror Movies suck so much nowadays!?
I mean back in the 80's and 90's had the best horror movies!. Now their just crappy !. My brother just had me watch this so called horror flick "The Strangers!." I was so pissed I wasted an hour and half watching that crap!. I nodded off to sleep majority of the time!. Oh how I miss the old school horror movies!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

Because with the inception of movies like, “Saw” and “Hostel” People are getting more and more disentailed to the gory violence!. So Hollywood thinks if they get the sexiest actors to die in more, and more gruesome ways it will enhance the horror aspect when in actuality it diminishes it’s value!. What we need is old, old school movies like “Psycho” which scared us with light, and shadow, and suspense now hack and slash blood fests like we have today!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

anyway !.!.!.!.!.!.movies are made to pander to the majority of teens [yes i realise i will thumbed down for saying that]
basic idea is teens want repetitive screams and thrills !.!.!.even with a lame a_S plot !.!.!.!.!.!.!.think the new versions of many films that were cult classics !.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.no one watches intelligent horror /thriller anymore !.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.
the last two films to entertain me [with their well derived plots and basic scares --the fact that they didnt force themselves to differ from main films] were the strangers and gothika
films like saw , are great but since the films continue to be made the joy of the original 2 saw films has somewhat been dwindling to me due to the endless stream of terrible sequels since !.!.!.!.!.!.
also m!. night!.shalyman is a very clever man !.!.!.but sadly his films lose there effect after the first viewing !.!.!.!.!.seriously how often can you watch the sixth sense , the village ,etc!.!.!.without finding them dull [as you know what the "unexpected " is after the initial viewing]

I agree!. Maybe it's because a truly horrifying movie, while appealing to certain fans (us), would turn off a large portion of the moviegoing audience!. This means less revenue, and most major studios would rather put out a profitable piece of garbage than a great movie that doesn't make a lot of money!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I knoww the strangers was horrible!.!.you don't even find out why they killed those people!. whatever the all movies are dumb nowadays!. Because Hollywood is running out of ideas, and the ones they come up with are crap!. All the good ideas have been taken!. Hence the sequels, prequels, remakes, spin-offs, and movies adapted from books that are NEVER as good as the books!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

when the exorcist came out people were vomitting and fainting in cinema's!.!.these days its not uncommon to see heavy gore and violence!.!.!.

Nowadays, they try remaking Asian Horror Films, &they do a horrible job at it!.

Because they revolve around mindless unnecessary violence and have no real (let alone original) plot!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Back in the Eighties, people complained that they were schlocky, pitiful movies!. Some made money, but many of the ones people seem to treasure now were put down back then!. That happened in other decades, too!. Many of the movies of the 21st century will have to wait a decade or so to be appreciated!.
