Tricky question!. My favorite characters to play with are/were Liu Kang and Kitana, but the strongest depends on the person who's playing with each character and how many of their moves they actually know!. Goro is pretty strong, but Rayden uses strength with wisdom and Shang Tsung can morph into all characters!. So it really depends which way you want to look at it!.

I always liked Scorpion, mostly because his "come here" move was so easy and it always pissed your opponent off!. I liked Raiden (yes this is how you spell it, it was Rayden in the movie not the game) because I thought he looked pretty cool!. In the movie Liu Kang is the strongest!. They are making another movie BTW, that should spark some new games coming out!.
