Question: Anyone know any good Japanese movies!?
For my International Studies class we have to rent and watch two Japanese live action/animated movies or anime (the two movies can't be the same style like I can't watch two Anime or two Samurai movies) and then write a paper on them and how they show their culture!.!.!.

Sirited Away, also known as Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi would be a great choice as it shows a lot of the director, Miyazaki Hayao's view of Japan today and how the Japanese are ignoring the older, more traditional culture!.
For a live-action movie, I might go for Tampopo, but thats mostly for the food! Kikujiro shows many different types of Japanese people and Densha Otoko shows a little of the Japanese otaku ('nerd') culture!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

there are english versions of japanese anime movies like spirited away or howl's moving castle!. and if you can stomach it there are japanese versions of the grudge and the ring!. japan is obviously very into their anime and their idea of horror movies are different from ours, much scarier and paranormal/supernatural you know it's different from our ghost stories!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
