Yeah!.!. super scary!. It came No!. 1 in a British 100 scariest moments countdown!. It's pretty old (1980), and it starrs Jack Nicholson (bloody amazing) and was directed by Stanley Kubrick!.
It's basically about a guy (Nicholson) who gets a job in a hotel as a chef and moves there with his wife and son!. He basically goes crazy and gets told by the spirit of the previous hotel worker that he needs to hurt his wife and kid!.
It's definately a must see if you're into horror!.
There's also a really famous (I think it won some awards) scene with an elevator filling with blood!.!. watch it here: http://uk!.youtube!.com/watch!?v=I6qDqdYY6-!.!.!.

Book was way better, and even Stephen King did not want Kubrick to direct it!. The movie has a giant maze and elevators filled with blood, but the book has none of that nonsense!. King wanted "Night of the living dead" director, George Romero to film this story!. Instead He let Romero direct some lame-a#@ b-movie about a ren faire with motorcycles!. I often wonder What "The Shining" would have been with Romero at the helm!. The Shining was released in 1980, so it's pretty old!. It's a classic though!. It's probably my favorite film that Stanley Kubrick directed, and one of Jack Nicholson's best performances!. The acting is great, the mood is creepy, but it's not over-the-top scary!. It's just dark, eerie and unsettling!. It's one of my favorite scary flics!.

Yes it is super scary! Freaks me out everytime!. its about this man who takes his family with him to watch a hotel for the winter to get paid!. Well while they are there the husband starts to slowing but certainly go crazy, he starts to see ghosts and other disturbing things and eventually!.!.!.well i dont want to give the ending away!.
Oh and yes its sort of an old movie, Jack Nicholson stars in it, i think it was made in the late 70's early 80's!. You must check it out!Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's older and really good!. It's about a family where the dad takes a job at a hotel that's closed for the winter as a groundskeeper!. He's goes insane from being in the Hotel for 5 months and tries to kill his wife & son!. It's super creepy!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
