Question: Can you explain this movie quote from Annie Hall for me!?
Toward the beginning of the film Alvy says, "Fellas, what is this!? A meeting of the Teamsters!?" What does he mean!. I know the UPS union are called the Teamsters, but that doesn't sound right!. Is he refering to like mobsters or something!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

The teamsters were the archetypical tough union which included truck drivers and they also had a role in the film industry!. They were led by Jimmy Hoffa who was involved with the mob, had a fight with JFK and Bobby Kennedy in the early sixties and later disappeared in mysterious circumstances!. There is an urban myth that he was buried on the 10 yard line during a refurbishment of Yankee stadium, but it is certainly widely believed that he was disappeared by the mafia!.

The Teamsters union is for truck drivers!. I don't remember the scene, I saw the movie so long ago, but if I know Woody Allen's sense of humor, he probably is talking to a bunch of burly, biker types who look like they could be truckers!. Www@Enter-QA@Com
