Answers:
A silent violin is, I believe, an electric violin that can be played so that only the musician actually PLAYING the violin can hear it (give or take about a foot in each direction, my brother always screams "I thought that thing was SILENT!" when I play my Yamaha next to him)!. I played a Fender FV-something or other, that I considered to be a silent violin until I bought a yamaha EV-204 last month!. The Yamaha, I am positive is referred to as a silent violin!. With the Yamaha, I can plug headphones directly into the violin and hear it, without needing an Amp or a wall outlet!. Both the silent and the electric violin can, of course be plugged in, and both need amplification to be heard by an audience!. So, that would be the difference, I am pretty sure!.
Hope that helped, happy playing! Www@Enter-QA@Com

are you thinking of an acoustic!?

i would recommend an acoustic, because its usable for more diverse types of playing!.
