Blanche was played by Joan Crawford and Jane by Bette Davis!. The two had a long standing feud for various reasons both professional and personal(cheif among them being that Bette poached Joan's then-husband,Franchot Tone) Bette considered Joan an MGM glamorpuss and herself much the better actress!. I think the reaons they despised each other was because for all their differences, they were sisters under the skin!. Both had been abandoned by their fathers and had a deep distrust of men and while Davis wouldn't come right out and so say,I'm sure she envied Crawford her beauty!. During the scene were Jane has to drag Blanche out of bed,Crawford had lead weights strapped to her body causing Davis to strain her back during the take!. but not to be outdone,when Jane catches Blanche on the phone calling for help and starts kicking her across the floor,Bette kicked Joan in the head for real!(she claimed it was "an accident"!.YEAH RIGHT!)Www@Enter-QA@Com
