Question: Why do all the living quarters areas of the spaceships in the movie Alien look like padded cells!?
In the original Alien movie!.!.!. All over the walls, oddly shaped padding material in circles, squares, angled lines!. It looks more like a psych ward than a spaceship!.

To give the ship a claustrophobic, industrial feel!. If the quarters were bright, shiny, and all wine and roses, the movie wouldn't be as spooky!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
that's probably just the visual look!. when you think white and padded you might think safe and positive so that's a great smack in the face when the alien comes on board!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
