At first i had mixed emotions!. I thought it was really cory at parts and I left the theate with a bad impression!. My complaints, (don't freak outi have good things to say too!)
1!. the filming seemed really edgy, and there were awkward transitions and bad camera angles!. at times it felt more like a hom movie or documentary than a film!.
2!. the chemistry btwn bella and edward was really awkward at first, and things that were suposed to be serious ended up being funny because of the way the lines were delivered!.
3!. i wanted more scenes with the cullens, and especially Alice!. I felt kind of short changed on that end of the deal, because i feel like for those of us who have read the book, we understand how deep their bond is!. and thats importnat in the future!. i wished they had shown Alice dressing her for prom, and more scenes at the hotel with jasper, because i dont feel like we really got to see his talent and the beginning of his and Bellas friendship!. Rosalie kind of irritated me, but i think the casting of the cullens was spot on!.
4!. i wished they had shown more love between Edward and Bella, (not as in kissing or acutal physical love), but i feel like the most amazing thing about the story is the love btwn them, and i didnt feel like they did a very good job showing us how deep their emotions ran!. i wanted more tenderness, and more of the easy going back and forth teasing that they share that really showed us how much they felt for each other!.
5!. i didnt like the subtle changes in the story line, as in jacob not telling her the truth and her finding it in a book, and the other small details, because i feel like they matter in uture books, but i guess they know what they're doing in that respect!. and i didnt like some of the cory lines and remarks that the characters made, it made it feel cheap and not true to the characters we all know and love, i felt like we needed more character development with alot of the characters that end up important later on!.

Ok so those are my gripes, and here are my redeeming qualities:
1!. although the film lacked transition and felt too fast, i feel like that is a testament to how the books are, Edwards mood changes without transition, as does the mood of the story, they jump quickly from being carefree into being hunted and fighting for their lives very quick, so that ended up working with the pace of the novels!.
2!. edward started out awkward and then turned said awkwardness into an endearing quality!. he did do a very good job portraying edward (althought the sparkles thing REALLY dissappointed me, i was expecting SO much more, i would have rather they left it out than show what they did because i feel like i see it so much better in my imagination)!.
3!. the movie swiftly caught everyone up so it was esay to follow if you hadnt read the books, and i really liked how they put inside jokes for those of us who have read them like when Jacob visits bella at prom and edward says something about "the wolves descending when he leaves her alone" little things like that made my night and i felt the audience collectively sharing a private joke!.
4!. this movie is almost impssible to hate!. even with the cheesy effects and the flashbacks of Carlisle changing edward being SO over dramatic, and edward looking a little beyone insane at some points, i really did enjoy the movie and i will definitely see it again!.

its impossible to make a book into a perfect adaptation and capture the reasons we love it because so many ppl love so many different things, and have such different perspectives on how things are!. but i am glad that we have our twilight, and if you hated the movie, go home, open book one and revisit it yourself, because theres nothing better than your own imagination, except for Robert Pattison maybe!. (I almost had a heart attack eveytime we saw him, holy crow is he good looking!)
