I liked "Sideways," but I would rather not know what happened to the characters after the point we saw them last!. Some things should be left to the imagination, and there are far too many sequels to far too many movies as it is!. "Sideways" was conceived and executed as a stand alone movie, it would be a betrayal of sorts to try to squeeze another movie out of that material, and a better film likely could not be done with those characters so why do one at all!.!?Www@Enter-QA@Com
Fiserfully: What about Cube^2 and Cube 3!? Those indie films barely broken even and the budget was minimal!. They were made to continue the story, and the creators didn't really make a lot of money from it!.
I never seen Sideways, so I have no idea!. But if it ends on a cliffhanger, that's probably for the best!. They did the same with 'Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels', and it always makes the viewer wonder what happened!.
Whereas, if they continued to explain what happened, then the audience might be disappointed it didn't live up to their expectations of what "should've" happened!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I'm a filmmaker!. I would never encourage a sequel, it's just if the writer and director think they have an idea for one!. The only sequel I really liked was Before Sunset!. In general sequels are a bad idea because most people do it just for the money, rather than the art!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Loved the first film, and also loved the optimistic ambiguity of the answering machine bit!. Based upon that: no, I don't want a sequel!. I'd like it all to be left up to our imaginations, if we still have any left, which may be questionable!. ;-)Www@Enter-QA@Com
