Question: Twilight for pre-teens!?
My 11 year old daughter and her 10 year old friend really want to see Twilight, however mom and I really don't want to see it ourselves!. I think it's about vampires (am I right!?), but my question is!.!.!.Is this movie appropriate enough for them to see it on their own despite the PG-13 rating!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
I think you need to go with your daughter to see the movie with them especially if they are 10 and 11!. From my understanding about the story, its about a human girl who falls in love with a vampire and I'm assuming that the boy vampire she's in love with tries to protect her from the bad vampires!.

I don't think its a typical blood and gore movie!. Its more on the romantic side but I still think you should probably go and see the movie with them since it's rated PG-13 and they are under that!. The content is more geared for teenagers I think so I think this should be your guide whether or not to allow them to go by themselves or not!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

My mom didn't really want me to see it either (I'm 13), but I really liked it!.
There's some parts during the fight scene where they are ripping apart a bad vampire and burning him, but you can only see the shadow and it doesn't show that much!. The bad vampire breaks Bella's leg and you can see blood and bites her, but it's not bad!.
There's some more parts where the bad vampires are chasing some people -- not too scary!.
Another part is where some bad drunk guys gather around Bella and she kicks one of them, but then Edward comes and saves her!.
Some parts show Carlisle biting Edward and his wife, but there's no blood!.
There's also a part where they kiss for the first time and they kinda lean down in her bed, but then he stops and they don't do anything, well, let me say that differently; they don't get too 'involved!.'
It may seem like there's a lot of bad parts in the movie, but there rally isn't, and most of them aren't that long!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Uhh I dont think that 10 and 11 year olds will really understand the morals and what the book is really about!. I'm sure your children only want to see it because everyone else does!. I advise that you don't give in because they will not understand the full meaning of the movie!. BUT if you do want them to still go and see it!.!.!.Stephenie Meyer is a Morman (or something like that) and the book really isn't too sexual!. There are some kissing scenes, and fighting scenes that may or may not be suitable for children!. If you want your kid to be obsessed with vampires and becoming one for the next 6 months than let her see it but if not I would wait till she hits puberty!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Sex & Nudity
A couple kiss passionately, and he pushes her onto the bed into a lying down position, but he quickly jumps away!.

Violence & Gore
A man is chased by vampires, and is knocked down to the floor!.

In a flashback, we see 4 vampires hunting!. Nothing is clearly visible, but a sickly squelching sound is heard!.

A woman jumps onto a man and twists his head, but is only visible for a few seconds!. Vampires can be seen throwing body parts onto a fire soon afterwards!.

A girl is attacked in a ballet studio by a vampire!. He stamps on her leg, breaking it!. Another vampire pushes him away to save the girl, and can be seen biting flesh from the villian's neck!. The hero is pushed into a mirror, causing it to crack!. The hero attempts to escape with the girl, but is dragged down by the leg, crashing into a mirror (!?)!. The girl is seen picking a shard of glass out of her arm!.

Despite this, nothing is too graphic!. They are only shown for a second or two and/or blurred!.

Profanity
None!.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking
A girl is harassed by a group of drunk men holding cans of alcohol!.

Adults are seen with cans of beer!. A teenage girl sets an unopened can of beer in front of her father!.

No drugs/smoking!.

Frightening/Intense Scenes
Some scenes could be considered frightening for young children, but it isn't likely!. The scenes described in the "Violence and Gore" section could be disturbing for some, but, again, it's unlikely!. For audiences around 13+, or younger if they have read the book!.

Yes it is about vampires!. Hmmm!.!. I think that most of the movie is appropriate enough!. Until near the end at the fight scene cause it was a little violent and got gross because you actually saw the vampires biting people!. I'd say for you to see it first just to see if it is because everyone has a different opinion about what is appropriate and whatnot!. If the girls are scared and grossed out easily, I recommend not letting them see it for a while!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The movie is about a boy who is a vampire and a girl named Bella!. They don't show any sex!. Most they show is the them kissing but then he back away!. I personally would go with them because of age!. (I just don't think a 10 and 11 yr!. old are old enough to the movies on there own but thats just my opinion!.) Now, if you want to know if I think it's okay for them to see it I saw yes, but alot of people might disagree!.

It has stated that this is good movie to go see with your daughter and it is a good way to bring up the subject of growing up!. (Sex, when to know when!.!.!.!.!.!.) I don't necessarily agree with that!. Especially when no sex is in the movie!.

Just let them go see it!. Check with the 10 year olds mom first!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

I finished the book today and there is no obscene language or sex!. Some very scary moments of peril for the heroine at the end but I would recommend the book to anyone!. If the movie is the same then yes!.

Truth be told I would recommend this story to anyone!. It brings up the interesting point of loving someone enough to let them go!.

I think every teenager goes through this at least once!. It's thought provoking and very mature!. In a good way!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

well i've seen it already and i don't really think that there would be a problem in them watching the movie!. It does hae vampires in it but there is no blood visible or any of that associated with dracula like vampires or such!. also there is no nudity so that is a big plus in your situation!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It is about Vampires, based on the Twilight Book Series!. And there is a scene when someones head is ripped off (not seen for a long period) there is blood, and of course other such violent things!. It's great for anyone 13 and up but at their age I'd go with them just to be safe!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

Ok, some people say Twilight is completely appropriate, others disagree!. I believe you could let them see the movie, there is one semi-racy scene!. I would not let them read the books quite yet!.!.!.they are a bit mature for a ten and eleven year old!.!.!.i wouldn't let my pre-teens read them, hahaWww@Enter-QA@Com

eh!.!.!.!. i think that's a bit too young!. but it would probably be ok for them to see it is there isn't really a whole lot that could be bad!.!.!.!. maybe the kiss scene or when bella gets bitten and attacked!.!.!. could be a bit frightening!. i supposed you and your mom should see it first and judge for yourselves whether it's something you want your kids to see!.
Www@Enter-QA@Com

definately!. the movie is actually very kid-friendly, and many of your daughter's friends have likely already seen it, so it's not like she hasn't heard the worst of it anyway!. it's not too scary for a 10/11 year old, and it isn't graphic or explicit in any way!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

Totally it is the most awesome movie EVER!!!!!!!! its not a scary movie at all the guy just happens to be a vampire and he has special powers like strength and speed its not bad!. You might not like it though because its kinda more preteen, teen kinda movie!. good luck <3Www@Enter-QA@Com

I don't know
because when i went to go see it, i got freaked out by a movie in the previews
it showed a trailer and it was scary
but i guess you can skip that part
but twilight was a great movieWww@Enter-QA@Com

I think that 10 and 11 year old girls will be fine watching the movie!. It is about vampires and there is a little violence at the end, but it's mostly safe for any age!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yeahh!.
the kiss scene gets pretty intense,
but the movie is good for the most part!.

I wouldnt recommend letting them even read the 3rd or fourth
book thought!.

the movie is fine!. =]
let them see it!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

It depends on what you want them to see!. There is a scene of sensuality; it is brief!.
I would not let them see it by themselves though!. Www@Enter-QA@Com

Twilight is pretty innocuous!. There's not really anything very sexual in it!. It's mostly cheesy love stuff!. I think you're safe sending an 11 year old to see it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

the movie should be appropriate but there was one pretty Intense make out scene that last like half a minute and one kind of crazy fighting but thats realy it Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think its perfect for them! trust me! I know an 11 year old that watched it and she was perfectly fine along with her 3 other friends!!!! Its an awesome movie!!!! probably many ppl's favorites!! even one of mine!!!!!!!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Oh yeah!. It really shouldnt be rated PG-13!. There is like no violence or adult content or anything!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

There is one make out scene!.
And one fighting scene!.
I am sure they are fine!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

yes it's a appropriate for them i watched it, its ok for them to watch it!Www@Enter-QA@Com
