The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford...?!

Question: The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford!.!.!.!?
Did anyone else *LOVE* this film!? It blew me away, but so few have seen it!. Despite starring Brad Pitt, it only made $4 million!.

I thought it was terrific on every level!. Every member of the ensemble cast gave superb performances, especially Casey Affleck!. As much as I loved Javier Bardem in No Country for Old Men, I feel Casey should've won the Academy Award he was nominated for!. The visuals were stunning, as was the musical score (co-composed by Nick Cave)!. The storyline was epic and, in the end, very poignant and thought-provoking (the epilogue tracing Ford's troubled life after shooting Jesse was devastating)!.

Oh, I also admired how it railed against most every western cliché -- it's more meditative tragedy than saloon-brawl-shoot-'em-up!.

Just a brilliant movie!. Anyone else reading this seen it!? Your thoughts!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
YES!.

God, I -love- Casey Affleck!. In anything I've ever seen him in--even Gerry, one of the most boring movies I've ever seen!. Which is crazy, considering how much I dislike his brother!.

There were so many wonderful touches in that movie--the comic books, the characters' attitudes and relationships (especially that of the two sets of brothers)!.!.!.

I was hoping Casey would get the award, too!. But Bardem did a fantastic job as well!. --sort of random, but I think one of the Academy's worst oversights was Ben Foster's performance in 3:10 to Yuma!. I don't even remember if he was nominated!.!.!. Anyway, he did a brilliant job in that movie, out-acting even Bale and Crowe, in my opinion!.

EDIT: Cool 'fact': Jesse James is actually one of my ancestors!. Or so my father and grandparents tell me!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I absolutely love it!. It had the same cinematographer as the film that won best picture last year, No Country for Old Men!. (Fun fact: he also acted as a visual supervisor on Wall-E, giving it his visual flair and a feeling of having been filmed rather than made entirely in computers)
It was my favorite film from last year!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Great movie and Jesse is a local favorite but I feel like the time could have been cut down, to make a more stunning movieWww@Enter-QA@Com
