i noticed that in the movie "airplane" they said the following!. but i dont get it!. is there a meaning to it, perhaps something that happened in real life to mr!.rogers!?

Steve McCroskey: I want the best available man on this!. A man who knows that plane inside and out!. And, won't crack under pressure!.

Johnny: How 'bout Mr!. Rogers!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
In the scene with Johnny and Steve McCroskey, McCroskey says "Get me someone who won't crack under pressure!." Johnny responds "How about Mister Rogers!?" If you look carefully that was dubbed in after!. 'Airplane!' was shot in August 1979!. Stephen Stucker (Johnny) actually said "How about Mamie Eisenhower!." The former First Lady died a few months later (in Nov!. 1979) so the producers corrected it by dubbing in "Mister Rogers" out of respect for the Eisenhower family!. The fact is that Mister Rogers was the funnier choice given his low key prozacesque demeanor on his show "Mr!. Rogers Neighborhood!." He would surely never crack under pressure!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Mr Rogers was a guy who was successful at many things, he was a TV entertainer, minister, songwriter, he served in the military, etc!. He was one of those guys who exercised every day and didn't drink or smoke, the joke is that it seemed there was nothing he couldn't do!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Is Johnny being invited by Steve to do the mission!? because that is probably a funny joke that they put in there like in Get SmartWww@Enter-QA@Com

It has no significance whatsoever!.!.!. None!.!.!.!.
other than to show how offbeat and out of line the johnny character was!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
