I have seen it and I thought that it was okay!. Its set in the 1960's and is based around a Catholic school!. Meryl Streep plays a strict nun who is the principal of the school and Amy Adams plays a good hearted nun and teacher at the school!. Philip Seymour Hoffman is the priest who is beloved by the local community!.
Basically its about Meryl Streep being a suspicious that the priest, Hoffman is engaging in inappropriate behavior with the schools only African-American student!. She at dinner asks the other nuns without asking them to be on the look out for anything!. Amy Adams who teaches the boy notices certain things like that when he came back to class after a visit to the rectory that he has alcohol on his breath and seemed upset!. She tells Meryl Streep who then becomes convinced that he is guilty and starts trying to oust him!. While Amy Adams is convinced otherwise by the priest!.
And thats pretty much it!. It plays very much like a play which would make since the movie was a play in the first place!. Its very interesting to see how different the actors are when being directed by a stage actor as opposed to a screen director!. I would describe it as a slow burning drama and say that some people will find the movie painfully boring!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
