What is the meaning of the song "Come Sail Away"?!
Question: This contains an allusion to the Bible verse of Ezekiel chapter 1:1-28 where a large wheel/cloud (depending on text) appears to Ezekiel and gives him instructions from God: "A gathering of angels appeared above my head. They sang to me this song of hope, and this is what they said... (later in song)... I thought that they were angels, but to my surprise, they climbed aboard their starship and headed for the skies." Some people believe the figure Ezekiel saw was not a messenger sent from God but an alien space craft or a time machine from the future.

**before Dennis sang the song he said 2 things about life:
1. find love, and for those who do, cherish it and hold on to it
2. winners: winners are losers. winners are losers who get back up, and try one more time.
then they did the song. i hope this helps someone figure out what the song means. i personally think its about achieving your goals/could be a love song too.
**This song proves that Dennis De Young is a true profit. He wrote it in the mid 70's, yet it accurately predicts the 1997 plight of the "Heaven's Gate" cult -- who poisoned themselves so that they could join the aliens traveling in the wake of commit Hale-Bopp. At one time Heaven's Gate thought that they were angles, but to their surprise.... yep, that's right, they (the commit people) were actually aliens -- and Heaven’s Gate took the call to sail away with them.
Just few explanation I got somewhere else, I hope this can help you figure out what the song might really means....take care!
