I think "Ville" is pronounced like "Vil-A"or "Vil-ley" because there is a Finnish hockey player that pronounces his name like that. Here is the link it even pronounces his first name.

There is also I hockey player's last name is "Salo" and it is pronounced how it sounds. So I think "Valo" is pronounced how it is spelled. "Val-low"
