Are you a beginner or more advanced? Have you had/are you taking voice lessons? All those affect how long and how many days you should practise. If you're a beginner with no lessons (or any form of choral training), chances are you won't be singing completely correctly, and you should take 1-2 days off for the sake of protecting your voice. You can sing/hum softly everyday if you want, sing to CDs, radios, etc but don't do serious practice everyday. 1h is more than enough even for beginners with voice lessons, 2h is a lot. I've just started to take lessons (approx 7 weeks), my teacher told me to practise only about 30-45mins each day, or until my voice starts to show signs of fatigue, whichever comes first. She also told me to take 1-2 days off each week. I was doing 1-1.5h everyday when I had my first few lessons (I was so excited about learning something new that I just felt like practising all the time - I just ignored most of my vocal tiredness, took a little break and ploughed right on), and I can tell you that the aftereffects are not pleasant. I'd be hoarse for the next couple of hours until my voice has rested enough. Then I'll go back to normal. The next day everything repeats. I was like that for 5 weeks (yes I made great progress when I practised so much, but the result was that I couldn't really sing properly during lessons - my voice would tire earlier than usual, and I'd be crackly for the last 15mins of lessons) until I decided to ask my teacher about it.

For me right now, I don't practise the day following my lesson (because my 1h lessons are already demanding enough), then I'll practise daily for the next 3-4 days, and I'll take a break again about 2 days before my next lesson.

i sing becos its a hobby

i dont actually time how long i sing, i just enjoy it thats wat you should do, unless you wanna career involving singing...

i used to then i though nah i'd rather go to uni. and work hard fot somethin'

- good luck

depends. if you want to sing, sing. but control yourself before you hurt your throat.

proably not or ull most likely lose yourvoice

OF COURSE YOU CAN SING EVERYDAY.

BUT AVOID SINGING FOR DAVE MATHEWS , COLD PLAY, AND ALL THE OTHER DOGS, ALTHOUGH I ENJOY SINGING FOR THEM MORE THAN ANYONE ELSE. DAMN IT HURTS IN THE THROAT BUT ANYWAYS I'M NOT A SINGER I JUST DO IT FOR FUN. SO SING EVERYDAY, BUT FIRST, CHOOSE THE RIGHT SONG, AND SING IN UR TUNE TILL IT GETS HIGHER

Hmm..look, you have to learn how to sing out of your stomach and use your head and there are some holes in your forehead that you have to use also as some kind of microphone...if you use your throat to sing you can ruin your voice if you're singing all the time. So if you've never taken singing lessons you most likely sing with your throat..unless you are very very gifted!:P
