Who (what?) exactly *IS* Roger Trout?!
Question: I've heard the name 'Roger Trout' referenced in various Tech N9ne songs, and some other places.
Is there really such a person? Is it some kind of slang? Is it an object or a place? Does anyone really know?

Roger Troutman was in the Zapp band with his brothers....he made the talk box (T Paine decided to bring back suddenly) popular in the 80's....and got popular again when Dre used him in California Love.....had done hella work with acts in the Bay like Spice 1, 2Pac, 40...alotta cats....did alotta work with Tech N9ne as well during this time cuz Tech was in LA a lot...then he got shot by his brother in 1999 in Dayton (where I used to live!!) and he died....the Zapp band is sampled by hella Chicano rap...they love the synthesizer voice too....
So yes he is a real person....he was a dope musician...

He is just a producer... Was doing a lot of big name rappers.. Kinda died off the scene as of lately... doing lesser known artists... such as techn9ne
They maybe speaking of Roger Troutman....he was an r&b artist that used to place a tube in his mouth ( something connected to a synthesizer I think) and it made his voice sound different. He's the inspiration behind T-Pain. He's died some years back, but I can't remember what happened to him.
He was Roger of the group Zapp & Roger....my favorite song from them was "Computer Love"...you have to go check that song out as well as "More Bounce to the Ounce" and "I Wanna Be Your Man". =0)
