Can anyone help? I heard a piece of classical music years ago which I would like!

Question: But I have no idea what it's called, I would need to go into a store and hum what I know of it! Does anyone know of anywhere in the UK where the staff are trained or knowledgeable enough?

I worked in a music store for a while and we regularly used to recognise music by hums, I would say just be thick skinned, persevering and persistent till you find a staff member in a music store who can help you, Chances are it's a lovely piece of music you're thinking of and you will come up against someone soon who will share the passion.

Try HMV

hummin mega store,,

Yes, there is a truly great record shop in Ludlow, Shropshire, where I must go tomorrow to buy my Raspighi!!!!! Thanks for reminding me. The guy who owns it is great, highly knowledgable and even older than I!!!! Where do you live? Why not e mail me? Or , it might be the prelude to the master singers of Nuremburg by Wagner, but that is just a guess.

Here is a list of music stores in the UK:

depends where in the UK you live

they have a huge classical library in HMV in Picadilly, London

or you can just enter any music store,
... the stores which sell classical sheet music the staff are more likely to know because they tend to hire music student and graduates

again if you live in London there is a music store called Chappells in west end..
it use to be on Bond street but they have moved the store to a side street in Oxford street..(so you CANT accedentally walk past it, you need the address)
i cant remember the name of the street but visit their website.. www.chappellofbondstreet.co.uk

It'll be the duet from The Pearl Fishers.

hi, go to
http://www.play-piano.org/play_online_pi...

play some notes of it, write it down and post them here. if it's a famous piece it would be easily recognized.

Addendum:
<quote>
It's definitely an orchestra, starts off softly, maybe a woodwind of some sort, gentle
<end quote>

then it could be Bolero by Ravel

Can't you remember if it was an orchestra, or something with a solo part for some instrument like piano, violin, guitar, oboe? That would help.
Otherwise try this:

hey!
you answered my question about friendships!

why are you not allowed out of the house on your own? (if you don't mind me asking?)
and why can you only met up with his family?
and why do you let him chat up all the girls?
this is obvious but ill say it anyway, your relationship with "hubby" needs some serious sorting out!!!!!!
