Answers: Which RHH album do u think stands as the most influential album of this decade (2000-present)? and what are the elements of that album that stand out, making it more influential than the rest

The Marshall Mathers LP

Remember the controversy around that album? It was culturally significant as well as musically significant.

And if you are talking about influence, sales can't be denied. It isn't the only factor that you can measure influence by, but it is significant. MMLP went diamond in the US alone, not to mention going platinum in countless other states (including 8x platinum in Canada).

Wow, the Carter II and King? Even if the decade started in like 2005, still no.

Besides the fact that there is no chance in ******* hell that the Eminem Show is better than MMLP, the cultural significance differential between the two is huge. I'm sure you just picked The Carter II because it was your favorite album, but I could say that the Carter was better than The Carter anyway.

He said most influential, not best. MMLP is not close to my favorite album of the decade, but I can't see how it wouldn't be the most influential. The only competition is Outkast.

i like the double wammy of Food and Liquor, and The Cool

great stoty telling

Stillmatic - because it was Nas showing the world he was NY's Finest. The second best comeback ever. And Nas is still impressing. Stillmatic was the rebirth of Nas' lyrical ability.

this is a good question....

The Carter II.

for these reasons
1. flow
2. lyrics/punchlines
3. swagger
4. delivery
5. stand-out artist

wayne did emerge from that cash money clique and has proven that he does have the right to claim to be the best rapper alive. The carter is pure genius. Although I am not a real wayne fan, I will give him his props cause he came wit it and people need to realize that he is on top of his game right now, and it can only get better.

And those reasons are in no particular order. If you heard the album and listened (not skimmed thru) to his past work as well, oh you saw the progress.

*EDIT*
now why u gotta go there HNIC...I only been back 1 day ...we ALL know that answer....but I will say this much if you know where i'm cummin from:
"Sooner or later I take you up on your offering
Put you all in your place
Like I'm replacing your father
You're talking to the author
The architect of the Blueprint
MY DNA IN YOUR MUSIC"
*EDIT*
marshal mathers.....come on now...all his follow ups were wayyyyy better

Soulja Boy- Soulja Boy Tell 'Em

I Mean, Come on, who has ever made a song about dancing or busting a nut on a girl's back while she's asleep and then putting the cover on her back so it stick and when she wakes up she looks like Superman (Superman That Ho).

Stillmatic was straight fire for this decade, Nas proved that you can still be on top of your game after being in the business for so long.

Kanye West - The College Dropout

Not the best album of the 2000's but quite possibly the most influential RHH album.

Mary J. Blige-Breakthrough
She talked about everything she went through in life and she gave very good advice on how to get through problems socially, mentally, and spiritually.

i agree with qwerty, i think that the Marshall Mathers LP was the most influential album of this decade. when i read the question i immediately thought of it. the controversy surrounding this album is enough to make one of the most influential EVER, not just in this decade. and it was an incredible album as well

get rich or die trying
it was playing everywhere! (go shorty, its ya birthday... lol)

and cosign on college dropout

and em's the marshall mathers lp

i think it was kanye....simply cause he came out wit a different style (referring to his debut) and he shook the game up.....that preppy look is a mutha...and he backed it up wit them lyrics

prob, ti his work is hot and fresh in comparisen

t.i. king

because he shows how our society is so corrupt with a double-standard for the n-word. He uses it 30+ times in some songs.

Linkin Park, Hybrid Theory. It sort of created a genre. Wait, what is RHH?
