Is learning to play keyboards very difficult? (Hunting some advice here.)?!
Question: Okay, well I am 15 years old and I really do love and adore music. I have a creative imagination at times, and I really do want to be capable of playing an instrument.
I've tried guitar and bass, but I can't hold down chords & other guitar players (well they're everywhere) make me want to chop off my hands. (Not literally but you know.) And with bass I get bored playing.
I'm very curious as to how difficult it would be to play keyboards, and if you must have to have a good knowledge of music notation to play etc.
Any advice/tips etc is very much appreciated, thank you v much.

If you want to be a proficient musician, then yes you must learn to read notation.
The advantage of learning the piano over guitar is the instant success of creating sounds - it's easy to strike a key on the piano and instantly comes out the note. Whereas on guitar and bass, it's much more physical to be able to get a clear sound.
If you take piano lessons from a teacher, you will learn musical notation from them.
