Which do you prefer...viola or violin?!
Question: i'm currently deciding on which one to play. our band needs one of them in it, but i don't know which way to go.
any opinions or ideas? pros and cons?
is one easier to learn than the other?

I love them both, but the violin often has more to do in orchestra. You could compromise, and learn a five string violin, which incorporates the lower C string of the viola. See:

Well. i play cello and llllloooooooovvveeee it more than air. A viola is lower pitched and has the same notes as a cello. A violin is a litle high pitched for me but try them both out(AND a cello plz) and c which ones best 4 ur style!
depends on what you want
the viola has a beautiful deep sound, but you will forever be playing the accompaniment.
if you want to have the melody, play violin. if you dont mind playing something else, viola has a much richer sound!
how do you stop your violin from being stolen ?
put it in a viola case
