what others say does not matter. it's up to your own judgement. just because "people" say they suck, that is their own opinion. you have the right to judge for yourself, and you wouldn't know if they "sucked" or not if you dont listen to their music.
i love death cab for cutie. i have all of their eps and albums. all of their songs are good. why are they good? well for me..their music relaxes me, it suits any mood that i am in. my favourite albums are plans, transatlanticsm, forbidden love and the john byrd ep.
i recommend you to download these songs to give them a try.

i hope you like them. they are one of my most favourite bands. their lyrics are very sweet and insightful. if you end up liking death cab, i recommend you to check out bright eyes, stars, and seawolf.

they can be pretty boring. their singles are usually cute.
I like them, I dig it, I really haven't listened to the new CD, but transatlantacism was a amazing CD. But never have really gotten around to get the other album.

Yes, I LOOOOVE them. But, if you're not a fan of quiet music, don't get them. I really like Photobooth, Someday You Will Be Loved and What Sarah Said. If you like them I'd recomend the bands City & Colour and Dashboard Confessional =)

But for real I love Ben Gibbard, hes pretty awsome. I like his voice and his musical compositions.
Music is very subjective. Don't go by what everyone else says. Make up you own mind after listening to them if you like them or not.
