Pssssssat yeah that's what I listen to, it isn't liked in school, because I am in 8th grade and most people listen to alternative or like death metal

The hair bands caught a lot of crap in the eighties, but really, there was some good music there. Personally, there's room in my record collection for Queen, the Beatles, Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd, but there's also room for Def Leppard, White Lion, Cinderella, and bands like that.

Don't forget Tesla, Cinderella, Winger, Quiet Riot....the list is much longer.

The only c^ap is rap.

Queen - 'News of the World' was a great CD.

Beatles, not my cup of tea - lousy drummer.

Pink Floyd - I loved them when Syd Barrett was a member.

That stuff? I still love Cream, the Jimi Hendrix Experience, the Kinks, the Pretty things, and Small Faces too.

I have never called Def Leppard or Twisted Sister garbge.
Def Leppard is not my cup of tea, and Twisted Sister was more of a novelty act than serious musicians.

As for 80s bands: Metallica, and Voivod rock.

Hair metal had its time, and bands like Poison, Motley Crue, Faster Pussycat, Cinderella, LA Guns and others were a big part of growing up in the 80s, as a counterculture to Duran Duran and Culture Club.
Pretty Boy Floyd was my favourite band back then, and they're still playing to this day. I look forward to seeing them in my lifetime, once I move to the US.

What I think is that those bands represent early stages of development for rock/metal as we know it today. Although I don't listen to their stuff, I respect them for their accomplishments and contributions to metal in general.

Queen - second favourite band in the world
The Beatles - They are legends too!
Pink Floyd - I prefer punk but I'm starting to like them now
Def leppard - They're okay
Twisted Sister - the ultimate party band and they'te not gay.

I',m not gonna call em gay, but I don't like hair bands. Never did.

Why? Look- *How* could I take em seriously *After* hearing guys like Slayer & Metallica?? Now THOSE guys & bands like them were making some serious kick as.s METAL. Dirty, Heavy, & mean. Next to the Real metal bands, hair bands sounded like Disney tunes for MTV.

I've never been a fan of 'Hair bands', but I object to the use of 'gay' as an offensive term.

I like Guns N' Roses, but to me they are '80's Rock' rather than 'Hair Metal'

I like alot of the bands from that era. I'm still a big Motley Crue fan. Those big hair bands were cool back then. And are still alot better than alot of the sh*t music that's out there now. I grew up in that era too and I loved it then and still love it now. Too many cool bands from then to name. But I will say LA Guns is one of my favorites.

They may have bad hairdays then, but god they ROCKed the world!!!.

I don't know that I call any of these "Hair Bands" neccesarily, but Frehley's Comet, Vinnie Vincent Invasion, Metallica, Van Halen, Def Leppard and the like make a HUGE portion of my playlist. Being a KISS fan though, ANY of the solo works that came out in the 80's and even now (Such as Paul Stanley's new solo album "LIVE TO WIN") will always top my list.

I survived the hair band era by listening to classic rock. it was horrible. I am still traumatized by it. I remember when Alice in Chains and Nirvana came out. I was thrilled to finally hear some real music again. The genre of rock was going to sh^t. I want my music raw and gritty and honest. Hair bands had nothing to say... kind of like Emo. Emo bands are the hair bands of this decade.

Silver~ I would never consider GNR hair band material! No freaking way!

Hello,,I say the hair was just an expression of freedom to be unleashed, when you hear the rock-n-roll on the flippin radio, how does hair play, not even a little bit. Only early MTV videos caught the visual images, and concert goers too of course, and it all part of the show. Hair bands have been around since the 60's!, glam rockers ? Man, the hair is an individual thing, if'n you got it ,grow it! Perhaps somebodies Mum has a memory of trippin her brains out and fornicating in the back of some long-haired rockers van. How much more can be said about hair? Hair growing, hair showing, long as I'm growing my HAIR, long beautiful HAIR. Garbage?the only garbage I remember were the beer bottles and condom wrappers throw out along some country road party place. Bring back the real rockers from the ancient galleries, and cheap weed prices too!

Don't be so ignorant as to use the term "gay" for something that is negative.

Don't lump Guns N' Roses in with hair metal bands.

No, I'm not particularly fond of 'Hair bands', I like a few, but for the most part, no.

merci beaucoup.

I really like a lot of 80s' bands . In fact if you read a lot of my other answers on here you will probably figure out that Motley Crue is my all time favorite rock band . I don't know what's going on with them right now , but if they have another tour and come to Atlanta I know I'm going to see them.
