My favorite album by them is Waking The Fallen, but their newer stuff has awesome guitar and it's different.
I'm not a big fan of Sounding The Seventh Trumpet, there are some good songs on there, but most of them sound the same, in my opinion anways.
With their newer stuff you can tell that they've grown as a band.
So i dont think i could honestly choose, each of their albums is charming? in their own way i suppose.
old, they have SOME good songs on their new album, but some are just so different from their original sound, and i just don't like it. some of their new songs sound almost country-ish. oh, well, i still really like them. probably going to see them at taste of chaos!
i havent heard any of there older stuff so im gonna have to say new avenged sevenfold since thats all i have ever heard!

New because it just sounds better and it charts well on both the Modern and Mainstream Rock charts

Avenged Sevenfold Is A Great Band And The City Of Evil Album I Loved And Its Not Really That Old Too Me But There New Album Sucks No Offence To The People That Liked It But I Found Nothing Of , Of It Hope There New Album Works Out Good Thow.
