Radiohead. I just now finally got into them and understand the genius that they are.
3 weeks ago, I couldn't stand listening to any of their songs.
And now? Well, I am listening to them!
The first time I saw the Red Hot Chili Peppers perform on TV I thought, "What is this crap?" (this was before they had gotten much airplay and long before their breakthrough release "Blood Sugar Sex Magik"). Years later, when I started hearing their songs on the radio, I found that I liked them.
For me that would be U2. Many years ago I could not stand them and Bono's voice, though I liked the lyrics and their political/social statements.
Now there are many songs I love and that I included in my Ipod.

I wouldn't say hate.... but was indifferent to Dave Matthews Band for several years. Bought 'Under the Table and Dreaming' because it was so highly reviewed/ listened to it maybe once/ didn't like it/ gave it to my nephew.
Then I worked one of their shows (volunteer usher) and fell in ~*LOVE*~ with their music!!!
Have since seen them again/ bought several of their CDs/ and can still listen to them for a week at a time.
behemoth
When Peter Frampton first came out with his double live album, it got so much airplay that it made my ears bleed. I can now listen to it and say that he was really, really good.
