What do guitarists do when they need to use a distortion, wah-wah but they are m!

Question: they are moving around and won't stand on a pedal?

Or do they?

Answers: they are moving around and won't stand on a pedal?

Some guitarist like Andy Summers of The Police actually have effects built into some of their guitars, but that's not common practice. On one of his older guitars he actually has an overdrive unit in the body that he can toggle.

Some guitarist even have their guitar techs operate their effects. I personally think it's crap and stupid to depend on someone else to operate your instrument.

Most just stand near their pedal boards though.

.they do

They can use something connected to the guitar (like a remote) or use an auto-wah

they do

They just use a distortion pedal. If they need wah wah, they will use it with their foot. Look at a video of kirk hammet from metallica using wah wah.

no they dont

get a longer cord honey lol.

to my knowledge you have to step on the pedal in order to get the distortion.
IF you are moving around a lot.......... then just coordinate the timing to at which bar you are using the distortion.
That might help.

:P
?

theres nothing wrong with actually stepping on your pedal, thats what its for

there are one of two things happening, one: they do step on a pedal but tey just time it realy well so that its not really noticed or two: if they are a really big rock band and they have guitar techs then they get them to do it at the right time, so if its someone like foo fighters of green day playing this massive stadium show its probably the techs but if its an indie band playing in a hall of bar then its probably just well timed use of pedals
