Why do people care who the best rapper is?!
Question: I dont care whatsoever who the best is. Because in my opinion theres no such thing, there are many artists who i could claim are my "favorite" but really, its impossible to pigeonhole one rapper as the greatest of all time. People who do so are misguided and dont really understand hip hop or even music for that matter. But it still makes me annoyed if people post things about kanye, or lil wayne, 2pac etc as the greatest rapper ever. How can that be? records are made to be broken and music isnt about records, its about personal feelings and connecting to the music.

that an excellent question. i think everyone should be able to listen to whoever they want without having everyone make fun of them
so everyone can claim they listen/like the best
either:
a: to jump on the bandwagon and claim they love them or disagree with somebody that doesn't like their fav.
b: they want some songs to download
c: they're just bored
d: or they really want to know who it is to see if that is their fav.
The same reason why people care who the best actors are... or models... or singers... or porn stars... or celebritys are.
at this point you're right. we should be looking for an MC with talent period, with the way hip-hop is right now. in 96, that title meant everything.
So they can argue with those who disagree.
