Why do bands get critisized for being try-hards?!
Question: the logic being, dont all bands try their best to produce good music for us to listen to? i mean if they werent trying hard, they could just as well dump every bit of crap onto us so why do they get critisized for trying hard?

thats an excellent question. but for some reason if someone doesnt like what they hear they pan it and say its not real or the artist sucks...and blah blah blah...
its sad...i look up to musicians, its not a talent that everyone has.
theyre trying too hard to be something theyre not.
I have never critisized a rock band for trying to make good music. I just critisized band rock bands that cannot produce music for me to enjoy.
well there's some bands that are really good and get critized really bad and there's the other one like for example the jonas brothers they suck live, they're getting money for there looks, (cute preps)you see what i mean right?
I think it's more the fact that they're trying hard on their image and trying hard to go for a sound that suits that image. It's mostly the bands with a cliche look that they seem to try so hard on that get crapped on. I guess they just try so hard with their looks and how their fans receive their new hair cut/color that they just don't give much of a damn 'bout the music.
Then again, if they're trying real hard on thier *music* and they still suck.. then like, I guess they deserve the crit.
I'd also like to point out that there are lots of good musicians that have crazy looks and often change their hair/makeup/whatever they change. But I think that comes off more as boredom and that they just feel like a change, not to impress their fans, which is what their music should be doing.
simple... because most people are ignorant and know nothing better...
