Let me ask you kiddo, What would you rather I do? Plug my ears when you start belting out some Bloc Party crap music, or close one eye, (may look as I am winking), and turn ever so slightly to one side? I think it may be helpful in the future.

Im not sure but I guess closing one eye & slightly twitching the lips show how irritated you are of bad singing. That facial expression clearly shows how irriated a person is.
Because it would appear rude. When I was small I used to go to church with my parents and there was this old guy who sang just like a big fly in a tin can. I wanted to burst out laughing, but had to try to be polite. It was a torture!

When I watched this You Tube video of Ted Kennedy singing at an Obama rally, I at once closed one eye and turned away. Before I could get my fingers in my ears, I started throwing up.
