It has to be Avril Lavigne. This is the classic example of someone trying to pose as something that they're clearly not. She's pretending to be punk rock when she isn't remotely close.

avril lavigne, her and all her fans think she's punk. as a punk fan, this really pisses me off. punk rockers don't dance and steal other people's songs... its a disgrace to punk, and also a disgrace to canada, cause she's canadian, and i am too. and she's very arrogant and always bends the truth. she thinks she's the center of the universe.

Papa Roach is in there somewhere. When they first came out, they tried to have this hard image of having a real rough life, and were now singing angsty rap/rock to vent their frustrations. But in reality, they were just a bunch of punks from California, and now they've shown themselves as the pop-rock ballad band they really are.
EDIT: Oh man! rckets hit the nail on the head! Can I change my answer? I can't believe I forgot about her...Avril Lavigne has to be the biggest poser in music history. I can't believe the nerve of her and her record label, trying to market someone like her as punk when she clearly belongs with Jewel and Michelle Branch.

I don't see why Nickelback is even being considered in this category. They are a great rock band, and they don't limit themselves.
Avril started out "punk" but conformed to what the masses wanted her to be to make money. You could call her a sell-out.
Buckcherry are posers as well. Especially the Crazy ***** song, they put that out first because it would attract the most attention, and it did. But for all the ladies that love the song and say it's their theme song, have they ever really listened to it?!?! And that song was followed by the i'm sorry song.... Ok.
