Im wondering what that new genre ‘Bassline’ is all about???!

Question: is it not just garage with a bit of a heaver bassline??? still most of em just sound like garage tunes from 6-8 years ago???

More to the point, why do people keep on inventing new "genre" names when it's all just music? Is it some sort of musical snobbery?

yeah i was wondering this too!! saw the ad today on telly for that bassline album and basically it seems like garage from a few yrs ago but chavvier than ever. oh dear...
