I would recommend these books to study jazz piano:
1. Randy Halberstadt's Metaphors for the Musician (Sher Music)
2. How To Comp by Hal Crook (Advance Music)
Between these two books and listening to jazz recordings - you should have a lot of ideas on how to practice and learn jazz piano.

Books would be the only thing. Piano is fairly easy to learn to a point.
Anyway, books are only so effective. I've wanted bass lessons for a while, but there is only one teacher in town, and his schedule isn't compatible with mine, so I stay where I'm at.
First find some books for normal piano playing first, not Jazz.
Then start on theory books, at the same time
When you get passed a couple of adult piano books, then get the jazz ones, and a jazz theory, and improv book.
