Question: WHO IS THE BEST SONGWRITER IN COUNTRY Music????

Answers: WHO IS THE BEST SONGWRITER IN COUNTRY Music????

The best of todays writers are Kris Kristopherson and Willie Nelson.I have to agree with Marty tho on Cindy--she did write all those songs and they were good ones.
Marty --do you have the poem she read about the dress? If so will you post it in here please?
Warty you better have some black coffee!!

Garth Brooks

George Strait hands down

bobby brown

Kris Kristofferson

I would have to go with either Willie Nelson og Bill Joe Shaver.

Willie Nelson - even if you don't like his singing, his songwriting abilities are limitless!!

No Contest: Willie Nelson, hands down, 'nuff said. Take care.

Phil Vassar, or Alan Jackson.

Dean Dillon, Billy Joe Shaver & Guy Clark

Brad Paisley.

Of living songwriters, I'd have to go with Bobby Braddock.

Why? He wrote "I Lobster and Never Flounder" (Pinkard & Bowden), "Bleep You" (Cal Smith), "You Can't Have Your Kate and Edith Too" (Statler Brothers), "Did You Ever" (Charlie Louvin & Melba Montgomery), and "Dolly Parton's Hits" (his own recording).

He ALSO wrote "He Stopped Loving Her Today," "D-I-V-O-R-C-E," "Revelation," and "I Believe the South is Gonna Rise Again."

Of all-time, I'd go with Cindy Walker. Even Harlan Howard, who is a close second, said she was the best. Why? She wrote everything from "Distant Drums" to "Bubbles in My Beer" to "Cherokee Maiden" to "The Gold Rush is Over" to "Heaven Says Hello" to "I Don't Care" (the Webb Pierce song, not the Buck Owens tune) to "In the Misty Moonlight" to "Leona" to the great hymn "O Gentle Shepherd." There was no one who could hold a candle to her, and 99.999% of the great songwriters will tell you that. On top of that, the poem about the dress her mother gave her that she read when she was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame stands as the greatest induction speech that's ever been made.

Well I heard Alan Jackson wrote every track on his new album, so I'm gonna say him. Either him or Taylor Swift because I heard she either wrote or co-wrote every track on her album, and I think that's even more impressive than her voice for how young she is.

nellie wilson....hic you got me started on shots with the TS CU questions

It's relative but I like Kenny Rogers!!

dean dillon, willie nelson

williy nelson
jack green
dolly parton
merel haggard

Alan Jackson, Toby Keith, Eddie Rabbit,George Strait...lots more

Rascal Flatts, Garth Brooks, or George Straight..or Tim McGraw
