Singing on stage- Excersises to warm up and calm nerves?!

Question: I'm 13, performing on stage for a competition tomorrow (Saturday) called StarSearch. It is the first heat since I got through the audition, I'll be singing something rockish, with a rock-chick style-look, and I've only performed in front of people on s a stage once before, at my school. I want to know, what should I do to calm nerves, and what should I do to warm up? With emphasis more on the nerve-calming! Thank you!

I always use some type of relaxation exercises before singing. Roll your neck and shoulders, touch your toes, get all the tension out as much as you can. Some find yoga to help with nerves also. Another thing I like to do is cardio. For me, it helps get some of the erratic energy out of the body so you can be relaxed before a performance. Don't wear yourself out, but do something that can get some sweat going.

Make sure you vocalize your entire range well before the performance. I would suggest vocalizing in the morning. Get all the cracks and crackles out of the voice before singing.

Get an alter ego if you can't take the pressure. Turn into another character. Don't be yourself. Let your alter ego take over. Then you will not have time to think about what your insecurities are. You will be in better shape than expected.

take deep breathes to stay calm before
and on stage don't focus on the stage focus on the wall or an object

Think not of what the audience will perceive, but what you are about to deliver to them. Be excited, be very excited...
If you're confident of what you have, blast it all out, give all you can, don't hold back anything....the spirit of competition

That feeling in your stomach won't go away until you are having the time of your life. Just think of it as the audience is just a group of humans just like you. So there is absolutely no reason to be nervous in front of people just like you. And you should also imagine every person there as you. And if everyone looks like you, would you still be afraid? I got nervous many times, but when you don't pay attention to the people at all and even don't look at the sometimes, you can get rid of all those feelings in your stomach.

shake your arms or hands.
pray a lot before you perform.
always carry with you a support team (family/friends).
BREATH!
SMILE!
Remember to THINK POSITIVE.
Think of having a fun performance.
BE CONFIDENT

GOOD LUCK :)
