I think Travis Barker is one of the most overrated drummers out there.
Now, I LOVE Blink 182 (not a fan of +44, but that's for other reasons), but I just think Travis is just a two trick pony. He can play fast and he can play loud. In my opinion, that doesn't constitute a great drummer.
Neal Peart is probably my favorite, and he shows his skills in just about every song Rush ever has made.

Favourite drummer: Eh, I never usually have a favourite anything, it's usually a couple, so I'll pick John Densmore [The Doors]..He has amazing control and his precision is amazing. I think he's a brilliant drummer.

Just watching him perform, it becomes obvious he puts his heart and soul into drumming, and therefore I would agree with you. Definitely one of my favorite drummers. As for the Soulja Boy cover, I'll just say that he makes the lyrics bearable.
Bonus: Stewart Copeland of The Police is pretty amazing. Driven to Tears is one of my favorites.

He is a great drummer. I worked on his reality show and edited together one of his drum solos from a UK concert. Great performance. He uses a pretty basic set-up for a kit, too. Yeah, I'd say he is one of the tops in music today. Met him a couple times, too. Decent guy.

That's not a Soulja Boy cover, but I have heard it and he did a good job.
It made the actual song just a little less terrible.
I don't know much about Barker's skills outside of that song though, so I won't comment.
My favourite drummer is Matt Sorum.
A correction to Clayton (GNR fan); Steven Adler didn't play the drums on 14 Years. The only song on the UYI albums that featured drumming from Adler was Civil War. The rest was done by Matt Sorum.

And he has the whole look down too... like you see him and you think of a drummer right away. Not like commercial or anything just someone whose a drummer.
And his cover of soulja boy is my favorite remix of his. Throw some D's and pump it are also really good.
Barker is a great drummer, he and Mark Hoppus made Blink-182 a good band, Tom's vocals annoyed me.

Travis Barker does have skills, but I love this guy. All of his covers sound amazing.
He's not GREAT, but he's okay.
