Yes, I am an MCR fan. I'm not so sure that everyone in R&P hates the band, but more so the obnoxious, overlly obssesed fans whom love to shove their music down your throat and rant about how much of a God Gerard Way is. I personally feel that if it weren't for said fans, more people would be inclined to like the band. As for the Emo part, according to today's standards, I guess you could say so. But based on the orignal meaning of Emo, no they are not. Real Emo bands pretty much died with the 80's.

2)Because they think its Emo/Powerchord Crap. They think its just pop disguised as rock. Its more that the 'non rockers' like MCR that has lead to the MCR bashing. They don't realize that MCR is heavily influenced by bands such as Iron Maiden and are hard core fans of real punk and bands like The Misfits.

I'm not an MCR fan. People hate MCR because of their shallow lyrics and emo-ish image. Also, some people view them as posers and / or sellouts. Some of their fans are bat-**** crazy. MCR is not emo; they're more like alternative rock and pop punk.

MCR fan? Yes. I love their music.
People in R&P don't hate MCR. They hate the fans and think they're/we're annoying. I think a lot of them are annoying too. Also their image. It's very teenagery and some would call it "emo" and not like those happy bands like The Beatles.
MCR=emo? I don't like using the term emo because it's so broad and most people who use the term don't really know the original meaning.

fan girls give bad impressions, and some ppl have differnt taste, so it's up to them, but they should at least give them a chance, with out paying any attention to lables and fake fans who only know a few songs

I am not a My Chemical Romance fan. The contributors on Rock and Pop hate My Chemical Romance because they try too hard to be punk but often fall flat They come out as poseurs. As for them being emo, I wouldn't know because that kind of music is not my cup of tea.
No, I am not a fan. I have listened to some of their stuff and didn't like it. Are they emo? Hell if I know. Not too many people seem to really know what Emo is. I have a question trying to figure out what Emo music is.
The reason people have such negative feelings about MCR ? The obsessive fan girls! ( not all the fans , by no means!!!! ) If you say you don't like them they curse you out, they report your answers. If they didn't do that, I doubt MCR would be a blip on the R&P radar.

- Real Emo music was a subgenre of Hardcore Punk, it sounded nothing like them. So, no.
