Should I attend an invitation to a concert by cellist Zuill Bailey?!

Question: He's giving concerts in Lima, Peru playing Dvorak concerto, among others..I am just wondering if you know him, as I am not a cellist and never paid attention to concert cellists.....

I know Miss Lisa is a cellist...Could you and others kindly give me your opinion, please?

Yes!!! He is a terrific young cellist. I have heard play at the Metropolitan Museum here in New York and I have his CD of Beethoven works for cello and piano with Simone Dinnerstein. You live in Lima! I bet you got to hear Juan Diego Florez and attend his wedding. Well maybe not the wedding but still you live in the same place as the world's leading tenor!

I do not know him either and never heard of him before but...I do believe it would be a good experience for you to attend the concert, that way you can start building your own opinion. Ask to other cellist at the concert and if you are able; get to talk to Mr. Zuill Bailey.
I am an opera singer but I enjoy Cello concerts a lot, is a gorgeous instrument and has some similitude with the voice. If I was in your place I would definitively go to that concert. Dvorak cello concerto is GORGEOUS MUSIC!!

Enjoy!

And you wouldn't go why?

1. You were invited.
2. He's a world-class player.
3. Likely you'll be paying attention to all sorts of 'cello-related info afterward.

Having heard one of his recent concerts with Awadagin Pratt, I would definitely recommend going.

Aw, thanks for thinking of me.

Yes, you should most definitely go. Dvorak Concerto is one of the most amazing pieces of music ever written for my instrument. His playing gives off passion and youth. I haven't yet had the chance to see him but I wouldn't pass up the opportunity. As a chamber musician myself, he's definitely really paving the way for us. And as a soloist he's very exciting to listen to...and watch. Just love his vibrato.
