Here's a link to a free copy on 'ChoralWiki'!.

An die Musik is an example of a 'lied' or an 'art song'!. 'Lieder' were songs set to a German poem of reasonably high literary aspirations, most notably during the nineteenth century, beginning with Franz Schubert and culminating with Hugo Wolf!. Typically, Lieder are arranged for a single singer and piano!. Sometimes Lieder are gathered in a Liederkreis or "song cycle"!.

Franz Schubert composed his lied An die Musik in March 1817 for solo voice and piano, with text from a poem by his friend Franz von Schober!.

An die Musik is considered a hymn to the art of music, it is one of the best-known songs by Schubert!. Its greatness and popularity are generally attributed to its harmonic simplicity, sweeping melody, and a strong bass line that effectively underpins the vocal line!.

Hope this helps you!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

An die Musik is a lied (German Art Song) by Schubert!. It's not from any particular set!.

You can purchase a copy here -

Or you could go to the library and borrow a book of German lied and just photocopy the page :)

For good recordings of it, I'd suggest listening to Bryn Terfel or Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau (http://www!.youtube!.com/watch!?v=0KCKVJfEZ!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Since it is long in the public domain, getting a "legal" copy is not hard!.
