Absolutely!. For many reasons!.
First, there are collectors and hardcore fans!. These people might download and burn the leaked album, but they're such fans that they'll still buy the album!.
One example of this happening was Radiohead: In Rainbows!. You could download the album and paying for it was optional!. Needless to say, people actually did pay for it!. When you buy the album, you're getting the album artwork, the track information, etc!. There's also the status symbol, believe it or not!. Buying a CD is like making a statement that you're a hardcore fan!. In my case, when it's a band I really really like, I'll buy the album, knowing full well I could have burnt it!.
Two, people forget that burning a CD isn't entirely free!. It requires you (1) have a computer, (2) have the interenet, (3) have blank CD's!. All three of these things cost money!. So from a purely economic standpoint, while people like me would simply download (I wouldn't pay for a lil' wayne album in the first place, but I would download it)
Now!. Does online availability hurt album sales!. Likely, yes!. But not enough to do major damage to the artists, who make money on concerts, t-shirts and other stuff like that!.
