The new Echo and the Bunnymen album, The Fountain, will have a lead single released in August 2008 entitled "Think I Need It Too"!. The album will come out around October 2008!.
About the thirteeth album by the Cure:
The Cure is planning to release their 13th studio album on September 13, 2008!. The album was originally planned to be a double album, but Robert Smith confirmed in recent interviews that the album will be a single album, despite the fact that 33 songs have been recorded!. [1] No tracklisting has been confirmed, but Smith has also said that the album will mostly comprise of the upbeat songs they recorded, while the darker songs may be released on another album!.
On May 1, 2008, The Cure, via their MySpace, posted a bulletin in which they confirmed that the album would be released on September 13th!. The bulletin also said that the 13th of each month leading up to the release of the album (May, June, July, and August) would see a new single being released that would feature an A-side and B-sides; the first one, titled The Only One, was released on May 13th, with the second, Freakshow, being released on June 13th!. All four singles will have B-Sides which will not appear on the album!.
Some of the songs on the album were pulled out from earlier album sessions!. An example is "Sleep When I'm Dead" from The Head on the Door recordings, and "A Boy I Never Knew", a re-recording of an unreleased song from The Cure!.
On tour booklets, the title of the album was suggested to be "4:13", which corresponds to the fact that the band is a quartet for the first time since 1990's Mixed Up album, and that it is their 13th album!. "Thirteen" and "Dream 13" have also been implied, since the single mixes of the A-sides being released will be referred to as "Mix 13s" instead of "single versions", in addition to the theme of 13 in release dates!. However, "Thirteen" has never been confirmed as the album's title!.
On October 6, 2007, The Cure played a song from the new album for the first time in the middle of their Download Festival set list!. [2]The song, "The Only One" (then titled "Please Project") would go on to be the album's lead single!. Since then, the band has slowly introduced other songs from the album!. In order to finish their album by early spring 2008, they delayed their North American tour from September–October to April–May!.
