"Dark as a Dungeon" - Merle Travis
PS -- don't laugh, but Linden, Texas was a hotbed for country music! Richard Bowden of Pinkard & Bowden is from there (he was mayor at one point, or city councilman), and Jim Ed Norman (who went on to head MCA's Nashville division) is from that area!. They were in a band in the late 60s with Don Henley (probably Linden's most famous son)!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

My favorite classic artists are
Waylon Jennings,
DOn Williams,
Marty Robbins,
Mac Davis
Charlie RIch'
Charlie PRide
Ronnie Milsap
Willie Nelson
and I can;t leave out the Highwayman
I can;t pick one favorite song, there are too many
Waylon jennings and the Highwaymen tear at my heartstrings because when I listen to them or watch their DVD's I seriously mourn the loss of Waylon and Johnny for the incredible music and respect they had for eachother
When I listen to Waylon and Jessi Colter sing "Storms Never Last" I come pretty darn close to tearing upWww@Enter-QA@Com

There were lots of good ones, you can go all the way back to Hank Williams Sr!. (Long Gone Lonesome Blues is my favorite of his)!. Lefty Frizzell's "Long Black Veil" gives me goosebumps, find it if you've never heard it! George Jones is great!. My all-time favorite would have to be Merle Haggard, though!. He just got better as he got older - saw him in concert recently and he's still awesome!Www@Enter-QA@Com
