Question: Do you think the day will come when a rapper turns away millions for the armed forces!?
somethin had me thinkin of Patrick Tillman (a former football player for those who dont), and how he turned away guaranteed millions to fight and die for his country!. do you ever think the day will come when a prominent rapper makes such a sacrifice!? (not sayin anyone is obligated to, just posin the question)Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
Ahaha doubt it, black people hate the government/laws= arent patriotic at all!.!. ,since people dont belive in its own country why join army!? same with first generation immigrants are loyal to original country not U!.S!.!.

white people do risky sh-t like that!.!.!.

i think black people just want an easy life not risk their lifeWww@Enter-QA@Com

No!. Not for this war, at least!. Hip Hop community is largely anti-war, and I don't think any rapper is bold enough to turn away millions to go to war!. Tillman did that for personal reasons!. I don't think a rapper would be willing to go with personal reasons, if that means being shunned by the community from which he comes, on top of losing millions!.

EDIT: Wait!.!.!.I just remembered Canibus!. Then again, although he did join the army (and was later released for possession of narcotics, I believe), he didn't have millions waiting for him, so he didn't really go against my statement!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

There are people who put their service to their country above all!. I am not a rapper or a famous athlete but I did my service to my country and did it proudly until I was injured!. I would do it again in a heartbeat and I am a woman!.
I don't think that it has anything to do with being a rapper or athlete, I think it has to do with integrity and the love for ones country and the way that one was raised!. For me it was a family tradition!.
Yes, I think it is possible!.
Peace & Love :)Www@Enter-QA@Com

I doubt it, its a different time!. A lot (not all)of these rappers are not politically aware of whats going on!. WWII a lot of athletes & performers were drafted or in listed IN THERE PRIME!. Its not the same anymoreWww@Enter-QA@Com

it's hard to give up a good life!. but for people who struggle it becomes an only choice, i myself signed the contract and plan on leaving sometime in january to basic training!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Interesting!.!.!.I don't see this happening because a lot of rappers tend to criticize the government!.!.!.I've never heard if a rapper who is very proud to be an American!.!.!.no patriotic feelingsWww@Enter-QA@Com

h*ll naw, I'll admit that Pat Tillman had *ALOT* more Courage and Patriotism then most!.!.!. i doubt we'll ever see that day, I dont think rappers are that patrioticWww@Enter-QA@Com

Well I know Canibus is/has served in the military!.!.!.Not saying that he turned away millions or anything like that!.!.!.but he did!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

No!. Especially rappers but that was a great thing Parick Tillman did!. R!.I!.PWww@Enter-QA@Com

Maybe, they'd be dumb!. It's possible since Ma$e left the industry in his prime to be a preacher!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

yes!.!.!.!. but not anyone like kanye west or 50 cent

maybe someone with MF Doom 's popularity and status!.!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

No one wants to fight in this war!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I highly doubt it!. They think drive by shootings are tough and manly!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I doubt it!.

I wouldn't!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Shaggy was rapper when he was in the service!.!.lolWww@Enter-QA@Com

nopeWww@Enter-QA@Com

Canibus joined the army!.!.!. though eventually got kicked out for drug use!.

But the thing is, the majority of rappers are extremely liberal and against the war!. I'm sure some rappers(politically conscious) would turn down millions to make a change in the direction of their choice(i!.e!. Immortal Technique), but not to fight for something they don't believe in!.

And I respect Tillman and all, but, do you seriously think he would have enlisted had he known he would be killed in combat!? You said "he turned away guaranteed millions to fight and die for his country!." That's wrong!. He turned away millions to serve his country and do what he thought was right, not to "fight and die"!.

EDIT: Of course it was a possibility, but how about you answer the question I posed before you throw something like that on me!.!.!.

EDIT: I asked a yes or no question, I saw no 'yes' or 'no'!. My mistake!?Www@Enter-QA@Com
